Victoria Frede speaks on Atheism in 19th Century Russia

Victoria Frede is Assistant Professor of History at the University of California at Berkeley. A Specialist in 18th and 19th century Russian intellectual and cultural history, she has studied anti-religious thought in Russia as well as Germany, France, and Britain. In her talk, she will present her book project on Doubt, Atheism, and the Nineteenth-Century Russian Intelligentsia.


Her talk is sponsored by the Rutgers Center for European Studies, in cooperation with the History Department and the Rutgers Initiative in Russian and East European Studies.
