The Center for European Studies invites you to attend a Jean Monnet Research Conference, Enlargement and Integration in the European Union: Wider and Deeper? May 4-5, 2012 at the Eagleton Institute of Politics on the Douglass Campus. This Jean Monnet Research Workshop will bring together leading scholars of the European Union from the US and Europe to explore the relationship between the enlargement of the EU and the process of European integration.

The Lessons from Europe workshop is the culmination of a two-year series of events hosted by Rutgers Center for European Studies exploring what US citizens and policy-makers can learn from the experiences of European democracies in confronting our common 21st century policy challenges. The workshop will bring together a distinguished group of scholars to explore what lessons the US can draw from European experiences in policy areas including climate change, education, gender and employment, health care, immigration, pensions and transportation.
