Democracy, Corruption, and Fossil Fuels: Azerbaijan, the EU, and the Fight for Transparency

A hybrid panel discussion that will serve as part of the global birthday month campaign to free our former colleague Gubad Ibadoghlu, who has been detained under brutal and life-threatening conditions in a Baku prison (see https://freegubad.com/).
Participants include Audrey Altstadt (UMass-Amherst), Kate Watters (Crude Accountability), and Jamil Hasanli (National Endowment for Democracy; formerly of Baku State University). Emin Bayramli, a Rutgers undergraduate and son of Ibadoghlu, will offer opening words.
